About Maureen Dezell


dezell_maureenpicAn independent writer, arts journalist, and author, Maureen Dezell is currently a senior editor in the Boston College Office of Marketing Communications.

A veteran Boston newspaper reporter with wide-ranging experience and interests, she covered arts, culture and boldface names for the Boston Globe, city politics, education, and urban issues for the Boston Phoenix, and politics and health care for the Boston Business Journal.

Maureen is author of the critically acclaimed Irish America: Coming Into Clover (Anchor 2002), and The Everything Health Guide to Alzheimer’s Disease (F+W Media October 2009).

She has recently been an adjunct journalism professor at Emerson College and Boston University, content developer for a Boston-based new media arts and entertainment startup, and a web writer and editor. Maureen  is also freelance contributor to a range of print and online media including The New York Times, The New Republic, ARTnews, artsboston.org, and “TheBostonChannel.com.”
